OK seriously at wits end with Linux - anyone? Any suggestions? HP
Laptop. AMD A9 laptop, Radeon graphics. 16 GB memory, 128GB SSD.
Cannot install Linux. Tried - oh, I lost count now, about 10 different
distros. Ubuntu. RedHat, Debian. Linux Mint.. Common failures: ubuntu
ubi-partman failed with exit code 2 or exit 141 when partitioning the
drive. Or, when going through the install, if I select connect to
wifi, connect to my home wifi, enter my password and hit OK, it
freezes the install. If I skip connecting to the WiFi it stops there
too. Also gotten acer_wmi: Unsupported machine has AMW0_GUID1, unable
to load. Am I missing something painfully obvious? Doing something
wrong? BIOS set to UEFI, TMP disabled and cleared, secure boot off,
but can't imagine any of that is the issue...

Have you tried alt.os.linux.mint?

Should be able to get answers there.
