The number of children who were admitted to emergency rooms for marijuana
intoxication increased by 133% in France over an 11-year period, according
to a new study.

Wang has conducted several studies of US trends in pediatric marijuana
intoxication, as well as trends in Colorado.
He found that in states where recreational or medical marijuana is legal,
the number of pediatric marijuana intoxication cases reported to poison
control centers increased by 30% each year from 2005 to 2011. Children in
states where marijuana was legal had more severe symptoms and were more
likely to be admitted to a critical care unit compared with those in states
where marijuana was not legal.

Why is marijuana illegal?

Initially to remove Mexicans once they completed some work we needed
done in the states back in the 1930s. Second to continue justification
for the existance of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics. Nixon started the
so called war on drugs to bully political adversaries. Never gave a
rats ass about the public or it's eventual outcome.

my country (the states) used you, and, didn't want you to stay. You
brought the weed with you and we used it as an excuse to round you up

You don't really need "reputable medical evidence", anyone who
knows any amount of "potheads" can see that they're not working at
the same mental level as people who don't smoke weed.

Actually, I do. I've encountered people who are stone cold sober that
are quite dumb. I've encountered people who drink that really,
shouldn't. It's not helping their intelligence in the least.
Likewise, I've met people who smoke pot on a daily basis that are
quite competent at the technical jobs they have. It seems to vary
from person to person. One size doesn't fit all. Some people can
function fine on it, to the point where you wouldn't even know they
were under the influence of it. Others, shouldn't touch the stuff.
